What happens during hair transplant surgery?
A hair transplant moves suitable follicles from the donor area to areas of thinning or loss. It redistributes existing hair; it does not prevent future loss in non-transplanted hair.

Step 1 Hairline design
Dr Jamie agrees the treatment area, coverage and hairline design suited to your features and donor supply. He reviews the plan with you carefully, including how future hair loss may influence the appropriate long-term design.

Step 2 Donor preparation
The donor area is trimmed, cleaned and prepared carefully according to the agreed FUE or FUT plan. Dr Jamie checks the planned extraction area before local anaesthetic is given and the treatment begins as discussed.

Step 3 Graft preparation
Follicular units are removed using the FUE or FUT technique, then examined and prepared by the team. Careful handling helps protect each graft before they are organised and ready for placement in the treatment area.

Dr Jamie creates each recipient site following the planned angle, direction and distribution of your natural hair. The prepared grafts are placed across the agreed area to support even coverage and a balanced, natural-looking result.

Choosing a technique
FUE or FUT: which approach may suit you?
Both techniques move your own donor hair to areas of thinning or loss. The main difference is how the follicles are removed. Dr Jamie will recommend an approach based on your donor area, hairstyle, previous treatment and long-term plan.

Protect the grafts

Shedding is normal

How long does hair transplant surgery take?

Does a hair transplant hurt?
